Teen Tie-Dye/Apparel Workshop

Ready to see what goes into creating your own custom gear? As a local artist and business owner, I know that every big brand started with a single experiment. This two-day workshop is designed to be your "inspirational jumping point." Whether you just want to walk away with a few one-of-a-kind pieces for your wardrobe or you’ve been dreaming of starting your own creative side-hustle, this is the place to start.

We aren’t aiming for factory perfection—we’re here to learn the basics, get our hands messy, and see where your ideas can take you.

What We’ll Explore:

  • Dye & Color Basics: We’ll dive into the fundamentals of tie-dye and the edgy, high-contrast look of bleach (reverse) dyeing.

  • Intro to Printmaking: I’ll show you how to layer simple print applications onto your dyed pieces to give them that "custom" graphic feel.

  • The "Maker-to-Market" Mindset: While we create, we’ll chat about the basics of branding and marketing. We’ll talk about how to find your unique style, how to name a collection, and what it looks like to move from making one item to starting a small business.

The Details:

  • Dates: June 23 & 24

  • Time: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM

  • Location: Brave Arts Creative Studio 115 S. Hennepin Ave. Dixon, IL

What to Bring:

  • Your Canvas: Bring up to 4 items from home—tees, hoodies, or totes. Cotton is the best choice for these techniques!

  • Need Extras? I’ll have blank black or white T-shirts available for $5 each if you want to try out a few more ideas.

Come find your style. Whether you’re making gifts for friends or exploring the start of your own brand, this is the perfect place to learn the ropes and get inspired.
